About the film:
Adapted from a Rajasthani folktale collected by Vijaydan Detha, the film retells the story of two girls in a contemporary small-town setting through three non-human narrators; the Tiddi (locust), Danda Thhor (a succulent plant) and Sarus crane. The film weaves together stories of women’s friendships, challenges to patriarchal structures, and the imagining of new futures by taking a cue from the folktale form and the use of non-linear storytelling and magic realism.
