Emerging Artist Award Extended Support Platform: with the Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art (FICA)

Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation collaborated with the Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art (FICA) in 2020 to develop the Extended Support Platform with the intention of encouraging and supporting a larger base of young Indian artists through a financial support grant. Developed as part of FICA's flagship program, the Emerging Artist Award, the Extended Support Platform looked to bolster existing systems of support and ensure a continued espousal of the making and dissemination of emerging artistic practices.

A total of 20 artists were selected by the Emerging Artist Award jury - consisting of Reena Saini Kallat, Sanchayan Ghosh, Vidya Shivadas and Sheila Makhijani. The selection highlighted participants who have been working actively in different parts of the country.

This platform will focused on providing financial support in the form of a grant of Rs 50,000 to each of the 20 artists.
