Archives: MMF Archives - New Delhi & Santiniketan

The Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation Archives / MMF Archives comprises of the archives of our artists Benode Behari Mukherjee, Leela Mukherjee and Mrinalini Mukherjee, with material ranging from photographs, slides, negatives, artists' correspondence, working documents, as well as catalogues, books and reference material collected by the artists. While the physical archives is located in two sites - New Delhi and Santiniketan - the entire collection is also in the process of being digitised.  Like any multi-layered narratives these particular archives were not single-handedly made, but was assembled through the efforts of multiple archivists and researchers over the years. MMF acknowledges their contribution to the making of this archives.

Mrinalini Mukherjee Archive, Leela Mukherjee Archive, Benode Behari Mukherjee Archive - all three inventories needed tailor made segregation methods considering their materials, but it was noted that there should be a standardized format to call materials across the archives when in need from enquiries. Thus a unique code from the foundation was developed to organize and withdraw the assets. As digital collection is too vast to be hosted entirely online, we will be showcasing parts of the collection on our website to allow our viewers a glimps into the archives. This will be hosted in the form on online exhibitions which will be updated on a regular basis.
