Archives: MMF Archives - New Delhi & Santiniketan

The Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation Archives comprises of the archives of our artists Benode Behari Mukherjee, Leela Mukherjee and Mrinalini Mukherjee, with material ranging from photographs, slides, negatives, artists' correspondence, working documents, as well as catalogues, books and reference material collected by the artists. While the physical archives is located in two sites - New Delhi and Santiniketan - the entire collection is also being digitised currently.  The digital collection is too vast to be hosted entirely online, and so we will be showcasing parts of the collection on our website to allow our viewers a glimps into the archives.

    MMF Archives in New Delhi

    New Delhi / The Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation's office in Lado Sarai, New Delhi, holds the physical archives of Leela Mukherjee and Mrinalini Mukherjee. This physical archive is open only to researchers with prior permission. Parts of the archives of Mrinalini Mukherjee and Leela Mukherjee here have also been digitally archived by Asia Art Archive in India in collaboration with MMF, and this material is available for viewing on the Asia Art Archive website.

    Benode Behari Mukherjee Archives and Research Centre

    Santiniketan / The Benode Behari Mukherjee Archives and Research Centre (BBMARC) in Santiniketan is developed in partnership with Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. The BBMARC holds all the archival documents of Benode Behari Mukherjee, and is now open to artists and reseachers. The BBMARC is housed in 'Kailash', originally the residence of artist and pedagogue K.G. Subramanyan, who gifted his home to Kala Bhavana and dedicated it to his mentor Benode Behari Mukherjee, with the vision to create a research centre.
